Based in Porto, Portugal, Dr. Vítor Cavadas is a Urology Consultant and Head of the Stone Unit at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário do Porto. He specializes in stone disease management and conservative treatment of upper urinary tract tumors. Dr. Cavadas graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 2002. He completed his residency in Urology at Santo António General Hospital and became Consultant Urologist at Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto in 2011, where he has since led the Stone Unit. He is also a member of the institution’s Transplantation team. An active member of the Portuguese Association of Urology (where he leads the Lithiasis Working Group), the European Association of Urology, and the Société Internationale d’Urologie, Dr. Cavadas has participated in clinical trials and authored several peer-reviewed publications. He regularly organizes courses on stone treatment, performs live surgeries, and is involved in undergraduate teaching at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar in Porto.
